February may be the month of true love but at Kanon we are exploring the darker and sometimes funnier side of love and art. The pieces in the show communicate numerous themes like sensuality, defective anatomy, gothic love, obsession, anti-love, fantasy, you name it.

Dark Heart was juried by Denver’s real power couple, Merhia Weise and Andrew Novick. Merhia is an artist and worked in community engagement for Meow Wolf, and Andrew has been a fixture in the Denver art and music scene for many decades, usually with something involving whatever new and twisted food concoction he has created.
